About Us

More than a tourism company, we are a network of entrepreneurs and conservationists who know, care, celebrate, and protect Colombia's ecosystems and cultures. In partnership with local communities, sustained by these natural environments, we welcome curious and conscious travelers to play an active role in Colombia's positive and peaceful transformation.

Our Mission

In 2012, we made the first kayaking descent of the Samaná River in eastern Antioquia. Struck by its unique beauty, and heavily impacted by its history and looming threats of hydroelectric development, we decided to stay and started Expedition Colombia. Over the last decade, our company has been dedicated to developing high-quality experiences around the last free-flowing river of Antioquia.

Hands in hands with local communities, we share the most pristine and uncharted trails in the Río Samaná watershed to show how our voices are necessary to ensure this unique watershed is protected.

Adventure Tourism is our most effective tool to both generate income for locals and enable foreigners to reach the most remote part of this area. Yet, we also organize a large array of events, scientific research, festivals, documentary production, and conferences to advocate for the Samaná’s integral protection. We don’t just talk the talk – we own it, we started our own foundation to be the Colombian voice for river conservation, and we are being heard.
